Burleson Police Department honors top officers, civilian employees
The Burleson Police Department honored its own with a banquet Feb. 27.
Officer of the Year honors went to Officer Craig Bastible; Chaz Garrett earned Rookie of the Year; Sgt. Brian O’Heren was selected for Supervisor of the Year; Telecommunications Operator Phil Lewis took home the Civilian Employee of the Year; and Administrative Secretary Lisa Cauthern was awarded the Ofelia Blair Outstanding Character Award.
Earning meritorious conduct honors were Michael Owen, Tim Engel, Lisa Cauthern, Chris Havens, Roger Hall, Tom Catron, Travis Brown, Brian O’Heren, Jody Trumble, Scott Bartlett, Bob Sherman, Melvin McGuire, Darin Pool, Brad Schaefer, Don Adams, David Feucht, Tom Cowan, Kasey Martin, Tiffany Bauereisen, Cody Austin, Craig Bastible, Johnny Schumacher, Robert Collard, Shawn Martin, Larry Sparks, John Brackett and Shannon Kimberling.
Earning police commendations for their involvement in multiple incidents include John Fields, Scott Bartlett, Cameron Pilgrim, Shawn Martin, Travis Brown, Diron Hill, Nick Thorne, Tom Catron, Kasey Martin, Trina Keeton, Chris Havens, Katie Reynolds, Dana Carey, Desire Norman, Birchie Stillwagoner, John Morgan, D’Arcy Scheffel, Jody Trumble, Johnny Schumacher, Tim Engel, David Feucht, Brad Schaefer, John Brackett, Larry Sparks, Shannon Kimberling, Michael Owen, Darin Pool, Don Raines, Steve Haas, Scott Bartlett, Paul Lancaster, Robert Collard, Don Adams, Melvin McGuire, Bob Sherman, Randy Crum, Jack Goleman and Mike Alley.

Earning honorable service awards were Accreditation Manager Paula Ibsen, 30 years; Commander Doug Sandifer, 25 years; Sgt. Melvin McGuire, 20 years; Commander Chris Havens and Sgt. Darin Pool, 15 years; sergeants Roger Hall and Diron Hill, Officer Larry Sparks, and Alarm Coordinator Steve Haas, 10 years; and Records Clerk Karen Goodman and officers Nicholas Grace and Shaun Kellum, five years.
