A committee of Burleson citizens, businesspeople and decision makers recently developed a vision for the city in a nine-month process called Imagine Burleson – Roadmap to 2030.

The 77-page Imagine Burleson plan is posted on the city Web site. Also posted is a 57-page Texas 174 corridor plan.

A public hearing for the comprehensive plan and Texas 174 corridor plan is scheduled for April 5 Burleson City Council meeting at Burleson City Hall. The council will vote on the documents during that meeting. The process started in January 2009. Hundreds of Burleson residents and business owners contributed their time and ideas.

City staff presented elements of the plan to civic clubs, various city board and commission meetings, and at chamber of commerce events. The city also hosted five town hall meetings.

The common themes from those meetings were presented to the 14-member Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee in February. This committee, composed of the planning and zoning commissioners and city council members, helped shape the final draft.
