The Pinnacle Bank 2013 All-Johnson County softball team was announced this week and four schools were represented in the superlative selections, led by co-most valuable players Kalani Basham of Grandview and Sam Montes of Burleson.

Burleson Centennial senior pitcher Casey Shane was selected by the Cleveland Indians in the Major League Baseball first-year player draft on Friday.

Two county softball standouts selected for all-star game
Johnson County will be represented by two players at the Texas Girls Coaches Association 2013 All-Star softball game. Burleson’s Mallory Foster and Grandview’s Kalani Basham were selected by the TGCA Softball Committee to participate in the annual event.

Burleson youngster ‘steals third base’ at Rangers game
Burleson 7-year-old Denver Wakin had more than 36,000 pairs of eyes on him as he ran his little heart out at the Ballpark in Arlington on Saturday. Wakin was participating in the Texas Rangers Dr. Pepper Steal Third Base promotion.
